Well, I thought I should tell you what I have found a typical day to look like. Although, like anyone else's day, my day can change at any time. I usually wake up between 6:00-6:30. Earlier than I'm used too!! I get ready and head upstairs by around 7:30. Then in the morning I play and interact with the kids. The girls go to preschool in the afternoon. During this time I stay home with Zion, while he has a nap and enjoy the quietness. When the girls get home we play some more, have supper, bath time, story time, and bedtime is around 8. Most nights I'm downstairs by 8:30 and going to sleep around 10. Then it starts all over again!!
I also thought I should explain what I call a hot day. When I've been saying it's hot it is between 30-35 but feels between 40-45. Although this is unseasonably hot for this time of year, and I am looking forward to some "cooler" days. But thankful these hot days come with a breeze.
Tuesday morning was overcast and almost a bit cool :) I baked some cookies and we had a nice little shower. Then the sun came out and it turned into another warm day! In the evening I got to spend some time skying with mom and dad! Must say I do enjoy technology, it makes me seem closer to home.
Wednesday, I did some more baking. Otherwise it was a pretty average day. Kiana wanted me to push her around on a little bike. What one wants they all want, so I ended up pushing them all around. Tried teaching them how to peddle. Had a little trouble getting the hang of it, I think they just liked being pushed around. :)
Thursday morning as I was getting ready I heard Christmas music!!! And it's not the first time I've heard a Christmas song since being down here. I think the music was coming from the neighbors, not sure if it was on the radio or a CD. But there was more than one Christmas song, and I don't think Santa Clause will be coming to town just yet:) It was a weird feeling though to be hearing Christmas music when it is hot outside. I think Christmas might feel a little weird this year. In the evening I looked after the kids while Margaret went out with some ladies from her church. I was scared that it would be crazy looking after 3 little busy bodies, but it wasn't, they were so well behaved. I haven't seen all three of them together and be so well behaved. Made for a good and low key evening.
The other evening as I was going to bed I took a moment to look up at the sky and was reminded of the great and mighty God we serve. The moon was full, the stars were shining, the bugs chirping, and the night was quiet. It felt so peaceful. To be able to stand outside at 10 o'clock at night in shorts and a t-shirt in late October. God is so good.
Everyday seems to be a day of learning something new and trying to find my groove. Someday's I feel as if I found it, and then the next I am struggling to find. God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called. I have to keep remembering that if this is where God wants me then he will meet my needs. My days are filled with learning. Learning how to discipline and love the kids at the same time. Learning how to communicate with people I am still getting to know, and are still getting to know me. But that was one thing I was looking forward to about this time, what I was going to learn, and what God was going to teach me.
