So because I'm in Belize as a tourist I have to go and get my passport stamped every 30 days. So on Friday we went and did that. I had to go into the capital city of Belmopan, which is about a 45 min drive. We got their sometime between 9 and 9:30. I was given a number, number 42 and they were only on number 11. I was told it would be between 12 and 1 before I could go in. So we left and went to the Art Box, which is a neat touristy gift shop and coffee shop. Did some souvenir shopping! We went back to immigration around 11 and it would still be a bit of a wait, they were only at like 27. However the nice security guard that had given me my number earlier let me go in early! So we were in and out of there within an hour. We went to a neat little cafe place for lunch and had a nice visit with a friend of Margaret's, It was a good day out and to see a little bit of Belmopan.
Saturday was rainy and overcast. Did some baking with Marcela, the 11 year old girl. We managed to bake some pretty good cookies, even with a language barrier :) It was the type of day where you don't do a whole lot, but watch the rain fall. In the evening we watched a movie as the rain came down. Today I found it a bit cold so I put on pants and socks!!! I think it still did reach 80F (which is 26.6 C), but being overcast and with the rain and humidity it can feel cool at times. The heat we had earlier, makes me thankful for the rainy days.
Saturday evening as we were watching a movie. There was this thing flying around. It looked like a shadow, and I wasn't sure if I was seeing things. When Zion said, there's a bat. Sure enough there was a bat flying around the house. It didn't even freak me out to bad, and I don't think I would have know what a bat was at the age of 2. So Margaret wanted this thing out of her house. So she opened all the doors, but it just kept flying around. Finally she took a broom and hit to the ground. The she scooped it up and put it outside. So now I know what to do if I come across a bat in the house. :)
Sunday we went to church in the morning and then out to Hodes for lunch. Just another rainy day. Felt like a good day to curl up on the couch with a good movie. We played some games in the afternoon. It was another quiet day.
Today (Monday) is my day off and I spent some time cleaning my room in the morning. In the afternoon I decided to go ckeck out the Green Iguana Conservation Project and do the tour. It was interesting learning about the Iguanas that are here in Belize. I even held them!! And had them crawling on me. After spending some time with the Iguanas :) I wandered downtown, to the market for a pineapple :) This one is really sweet. Then the rain came down. It was rainy in the morning, but it had cleared up and the sun came out for the afternoon. So I decided to go get some ice cream, before taking a taxi back home. It was a good day and I did things I never thought I would ever do! :)

Holding the big guy!

We got to feed the Iguanas

There was 5 of them on me!!!

Got some Ice Cream!

I recently finished watching a Beth Moore Simulcast on Audacity. Audacity is the willingness to take bold risks, or as she put it audacity is guts and glory, having the guts to give God the glory. Audacity is also having the guts to do something in spite of fear. We are called to live life with Audacity!

  2. I just found your blog, this is so much fun to read! Haha the bat story literally had me laughing out loud. I remember once as a little girl, our evening church service got disrupted by a few bats. Makes it a little difficult to concentrate :) however, the same method was used to put an end to them
