To say the least this week has been WAY different then I thought it would be. It seemed to be full of surprises. The week started out just like any other week. Although because it was my birthday this past Sunday I was told we would celebrate all week. But that aside on Tuesday I stayed home all day and later in the afternoon the Miller family came over for coffee. This is the family that Cory stayed with in Alaska. They have 9 kids of which 7 are adopted. So now I have met them all, although I don't remember all their names. Otherwise things continued on as normal with preschool on Thursday and Friday. Throughout the morning the thought crossed my mind a couple times that I should be going to Belize City to pick up my grandparents from the airport. However I also felt as if something was up. I guess you could say my 6th sense was kicking in. Margaret wasn't home when I got home from preschool, which isn't that out of the ordinary. I thought she might be out running some errands and doing some of her marketing. In the morning she had asked me to make some muffins and would pick up the ingredients, but when I came home they were all there. So that meant she had to be somewhere else. Hmmm.... Marisol cleans the house on Fridays, so she was having lunch when I got back. I found some leftovers and went and joined here. Over lunch she was asking all sorts of questions about my mom, and my grandparents. I thought it was sort of weird that she was asking if my mom would like the weather. But then she often asks a lot of questions about my family and where I come from. Then a little later she asked if I liked surprises, because they had thought about surprising me with a birthday lunch on my birthday. My wheels were definitely spinning, and maybe even hoping that someone was coming. But then there was reality, that no no one was coming to see me. Well, I had put my muffins in the oven and had stepped outside when Margaret pulled up. And guess who I saw sitting in the front seat...... My Mom!!!!! It was the best surprise ever!! All the different questions that had been asked throughout the last week now made sense :) I've been enjoying my time with my mom and showing her some of the different sights, people, and the culture. Looking forward to spending some time together on the Islands!!
